How many miles is your 986?

I was watching the International Auto show on Speed TV and behold was a 96 SAAB Turbo on display with 1,000,000 miles! Original engine etc, etc.
The previous owner called SAAB and they were delighted trade in his old 96 for 07 for free! free!

My 986 Boxster S at 45,000 miles.

No wonder you bought the Benz' coz you haven't experience the real power behind the seat of the Boxster ;) j/k

I have a TIP Box and last weekend, while driving, I put it on Sports Mode and after clearing every turns, *I let it shift by itself at 5k rpm...wohooooo :D :D :D

*thanks to the D/E Instructor who said that I could do that on the TIP Boxster

YellowJacket 02-21-2007 08:39 AM

You think that is bad, my friend bought a 2000 S last fall with 6100 miles on it......

porschegeorg 02-21-2007 09:59 AM

with 4900 on my 03 im averaging 1633/yr. but i store it for 6 months so im averaging 272/month. i also wax it weekly during the driving months, so thats
approx 26 waxings. that equates to 1 waxing every 62 miles.

Gary in BR 02-21-2007 10:10 AM

my 1999 has 147000.

The way that people on this board care for their cars (impeccable adherence to the maintenance schedule, etc.), I see no reason why any of these engines, if driven with a bit of restraint, shouldn't see 200k.

I'll let you know in 10 years or so if that's the case. :)

aBsOlUt 02-21-2007 11:11 AM

2004 BoxsterS 16.666 miles - cool number? ;)

Loving it.

rdancd816 02-21-2007 11:18 AM

seems like you are the leader in the mileage department so far..
what non-maintenance repairs have you had since becoming the owner?
