It's funny -- I've had two SAAB 900 Turbo myself; the first one I sold to a "clean-air" program for $500 -- it had 255,000 miles on it (but was still going strong). The second one had 165,000 when I sold it on eBay for the same amount.
I managed to put 86,000 miles on my Ducati race-bike until I totaled it.
The MX5 I recenly sold at 153,000 miles.
My Boxster is currently at 106,000 miles.

Some cars go forever, I put 200K on my 88 944 Turbo and sold it for 6K, the car looked brand new, I think I sold it too cheap, hell I should never have sold it... I miss it! (must get another one!)
I also had an 86 Audi 4000q with 200K I sold on ebay for 500 bucks and I had an 88 Audi 90q I put 275K miles on it, one day it just died. No compression.
86k on a bike, thats imperessive

My 99 just turned 33,333. I thought that was kinda cool but I am easily amused. Can't wait for spring to drive it. Too much salt on the roads here in Central PA.

2003S 35,235 miles daily driver. Touch of spring today in NY almost put the top down. No problems to speak of.

2002S 47K
I bought it "pre-driven" in Dec/05 with 19K on it. Hey, these cars are not meant to be garage queens. Drive 'em hard and drive 'em as often as you can.

Canvas top, coolant reservoir, water pump, ignition switch, window regulator, arm-rest hinge, MAF, brake master cylinder. That's about it. Really not bad for a car that's almost nine years old that i drive frequently on a race track. Still has the original clutch.
It's the 'extras' that get me:
new wheels / tires, new gear shift, new e-brake lever, painted interior, M030 suspension, racing harnesses, fire extinguisher & mount, clear tails & corners, stereo upgrade, GT3 nose, racing pedals, the list goes on. by far the biggest expense has been tires. i replace rears about every 4K miles and fronts at about 7K.

2005 - I have put 23k on it so far. I drive it every day and forego flying on business trips to drive this car whenever possible. I absolutely love it.

At what point should an owner start thinking they have more miles than they need?
I don’t mean to hijack the thread here, but when is it a good time to unload this car? I am happy to go on putting 15k+ miles per year on this thing until the end of time, but at some point, I imagine it would be more cost effective/ reliable to just dump it and pick up a new one. Any thoughts?

'98 with 64k.
new motor in (warranty item with original owner) at 24k.
All the other normal stuff (seat belt problem, coolant leak, bad O2 sensors) done under warranty by 1st owner too.
I've owned it for 2 months now and only put 1 tank of gas in it. It's going to have an easy life with me at the wheel.

How many miles?
I have 14,500 on my 01 986. I plan on putting 12K a year on it. It runs great, and is a blast to drive. Noticed some wear on outside of rear tires (Michelin Pilot Sports).
