Supplemental Survey Questions

Hello Forum Users:

I am in the Marketing Research group that requested your participation in Boxster survey. I would firstly like to thank those that participated in the survey, it was most helpful and we will release the full results to you in short order. In direct reference to the answers that you posed there were two supplemental questions that we wanted to pose informally to accurately assess the market place. If you could simply indicate your answer directly to this thread we would be most appreciative. Thank you again for your participation in this regard.

1. Which vehicles do you consider to be the direct competitors to the Porsche Boxster and Boxster S (as many as you wish)?

2. Do you have children ages 0 - 9?

3. What specific recommendations for improvement would you offer (if any) for the Porsche Boxster that you own?

1) I checked out the S2000 and the Z4 along with the Boxster but MBZ also has the SLK that will compete with this. The S2000 performs great but it lacks in the luxury aspect and the MBZ doesn't have a manual option which was a big deciding factor for me.

2) I do not have any children yet.

3) I would like to see a little more power. The 987S has great power and in all reality so does the 987 but I am a person that would like to do more. I would like to see some form of forced induction (Turbo) power implemented. Nothing big and maybe only about 5 to 10 pounds on a small turbo (like the BMW 335). That way it will be a lot more tunable for someone that wanted to beef it up but would not bother someone that wanted to keep it stock. Also can we get the lights to tune off automatically if we forget them on. I had an issue with this within the first 24 hours of owning the car. I mean my $20K Subaru did this.

That is just my opinion but I am very new to Porsche.

1) BMW Z4 (versus base) and Z4M (versus S), Honda S2000, Lotus Elise, Lotus Exige
2) None
3) Eliminate Real Main Seal (RMS) leak problems, auto on/off headlamps, alarm should "beep" when activated/deactivated, eliminate rear "bumper-ettes", more power or at least another level of Boxster (Turbo or X50 option), additional settings for the wiper delay, front hood should be easily accessible even when battery is dead.

1) BMW Z4, Honda S2000, Audi TT, Nissan 350Z

2) No Children

3) I'd like to see more standard equipment (windscreen, full leather, gps, etc) as well a better sound system standard (with MP3 player direct connectivity). Also would like a higher horsepower option like the X51 package.

Response to questions

1) Mercedes Benz SLK, Z4, Nissan 350Z,to some degree Pontiac Solstice and S2000 although I have to agree in the luxury appointments.

2) 2 Kids ( 6 and 8)

3) More industry standard features like;
---full electric roof (a la 911)
---a spare tire (even the space saving one, I can't believe Porsche want us to make do with a can of Fiax-a-flat)
---Bluetooth / Ipod radio
---keyless entry system
---on-star (or the closest thing to that)....
