Is it legal, not sure at all...?
I will see what happens when it goes for a smog check.
Do I feel it, sure do more than ever during shift points, much easier to rev up and don't feel the engine strain.
Call them and see what Matt or Travis would recommend. When I spoke with Matt at the location he gave me a good description of what the difference should be, he did not overstate or make it seem that once done it would be turbo fast or anything like that.
My opinion for the money it's worth it...
This forum has given me many ideas of small and large mods to think about.

The Boxster is not a vehicle that responds very well to ecu tuning.

If you want good results, you will need to remove air restrictions and then use the ecu tuning to take advantage of those.

That's what many here have said and my own friends who are car experts.

NickCats not exactly sure but here is what some of my research has mentioned.
I think they all re-map F/A mixture, rev points, limiters and also help maximize the gains that can be achieved with other mod’s being utilized. Form other forums including this one it seems that GIAC is also popular.
Many to choose to from so good luck....

How is this chip different from the Jet Performance Chip. They do the exact same thing. Re-map everything. Jet is allot cheaper.

Thanks for the info, CALI...

Here is what I can gather :

GIAC

Claim 10-15 hp gain ( 1997 - 1999 Boxster 2.5 )

For optimum power gains the software must be coupled with an Evolution Motorsports cold air intake.

$795 ( Imagine Auto )

Powerchip

Claim 14-18 hp gain ( 1997 - 1999 Boxster 2.5 )

$690

Jet Performance Chip

Only Available for 2000 MY

No mention of HP gains on web site for Boxster

$400
