How many base 987s are on this site?
Seems like every 987 is an "S".
I honestly have seen about....3.... including myself!
Post if you know anyone who has one on here or if you yourself have one.
I'd like to know I'm not alone
Thanks

John Y, except for switching to 17s, is the final spec the same as in this thread?

As a former 987 base owner, I still think that model is the best bang for the buck offered by Porsche.

Yes - when you look at the ratios, we essentially have gears 1,2,3,4 & 6 - basically the 6 speed without gear 5. That one didn't seem necessary to me for driving in this country and not seeing much track time.

Hmmm... non metallic paint, heated seats and a CD changer. I wanted to get more "base" than that, but I really wanted those heated seats...

Thanks - yeah, ultimately it came down to the somewhat better comfort that the 17s offer (especially on a non-PASM car) and my desire to reduce unsprung weight and rotational mass on a car without a whole hell of a lot of torque, like ours. It probably borders on the obsessive, but hey - that's me!
I probably could live with the 18- in. ride and still like the design better, I also think they look like more of a "right" size for the proportions of this car. But the 17s have grown on me, and I really kind of like the 'retro' high sidewall look.

Can't wait to pick it up and start logging some miles!
