anyone knows .....

Hey dudes, on my 2002 Boxster S I have a dot always present on the top left part of the clock display LCD. Just for pure curiosity ....
Does anyone knows if it's normal and if it is, what that means ?
I am not able to find this info anywhere...

THANKS

Hi,

That's normal. I think (but am uncertain) that it may be an AM/PM indicator if you select the 12-hour mode as opposed to the 24-hour one. Does it stay on all the time both AM and PM? My car is a '99 and it displays the AM/PM characters in 12-hour mode- no dot, the Instrument Displays changed in '01. Hope this helps...

Happy Motoring!... Jim'99

AM/PM. AM is indicated by the dot being on the top left. PM is indicated by the dot being on the bottom left.

Only you don't want that dot in the top right. It warns of an impending RMS failure in the next 1k miles. It's a secret but that's how porsche mechanics actually diagnose this problem.

Just kidding, of course.
