Man it looks like all the P-car meets are in Southern Cali, wish there were more here in Nor Cal.

CJ_Boxster 01-16-2007 05:23 AM

I can make it, Its about 32 minutes from where I live. Geez its going to be cold, the boxster told it was 36 degrees outside on the way to work this morning.

dharrisonwu 01-16-2007 09:34 AM

CJ - - are you going for sure?

I live about 15 minutes away from there and was thinking of stopping by. Ever been to one of those before?

CJ_Boxster 01-16-2007 09:37 AM

Yes forsure im going, Ill bring my GF with me, I have never been to one of those.
If you want, you can PM and since we know eachother here, we can team up and not look like loners... i dont know how the other p-car owners are as far as attitude and arrogance so its good to clic up quick.

jmabasa 01-16-2007 10:11 AM

Hmm...I live about 10 minutes away. I wonder if I should go too.... Kinda intimidating though that all the other cars on that picture are 911's and newer boxsters. Oh well. :D

CJ_Boxster 01-16-2007 10:13 AM

Yeah, intimidating for me too, that was the first thing i thought when i seen that picture of all those more expensive pcars... Oh well, I just hope the people are nice no matter what model my porsche is. So what do you say, you going or not sure yet?

jmabasa 01-16-2007 10:16 AM

I'll try to convince my gf to come along. I would really like to go and meet all you great folks! :D

CJ_Boxster 01-16-2007 11:20 AM

If anyone goes to the porsche meet from this forum, a way you can tell who i am, Ill be the only Lapis Blue porsche with a Post-It note on the front bumper near the scratches someone left while parking... the note will say "Thank you may I have another"

dharrisonwu 01-16-2007 11:36 AM

C'mon all of you in LA - GO!

I'm in. Truth be told, I'm a little apprehensive but I think it would be a great opportunity for us 986/987 owners to meet.

I

CJ_Boxster 01-16-2007 11:37 AM

Yes, thats the way i feel, im not too crazy about meeting the 996 and 997 owners but would be nice to put names to faces for people on this forum!

mocster 01-16-2007 11:45 AM

guys, don't be intimidated by some of cars. the group on the last meet had no attitude, just friendly car guys and gals chic chatting over coffee. they talked about their mods and admired others.

as you can see from last meet, there were three Boxsters from '98 to '06.

dharrisonwu 01-16-2007 02:30 PM

550 - - here's a link:

mocster 01-16-2007 02:35 PM

From the above map, Starbucks seems to be at the corner but it is actually 1/4 block North of Mission Rd. on Fremont St at signal. It is on the left side if you are going North. The gathering is at the back parking lot.

jmabasa 01-16-2007 06:02 PM

Is that the starbucks beside the cold stone creamery?

CJ_Boxster 01-17-2007 05:51 PM

anyone going tonite? Im going to wait for the gf to get home before i go, ill probably be there around 9ish

mocster 01-17-2007 06:06 PM

If it is after 8:30pm tonight, meet them at

International House Of Pancakes - Rosemead
3506 Rosemead Boulevard, Rosemead, CA 91770

They are going to caravan to IHOP for dessert / snack. Park where all the pcars park!

Signing-off!!!

CJ_Boxster 01-17-2007 07:05 PM

Im heading out now, gf isnt coming cause shes still at her study group., I really hope when i get there that someone from here recognizes me so i dont rome around alone!!! :( :o :o :barf:

The on feb 10th, they will be meeting up in San Gabreal early in the am and taking a drive to Irvine... Since the cove is outta commission i think we will be trying probably a new place to replace the cove.

dharrisonwu 01-18-2007 08:22 AM

CJ!

I was there last night as well!!

I met up with the group at 8:00 at Starbucks and we left Starbucks at around 8:40 p.m. But, on the way there, ended up taking another exit to go home - - long day so didn't go to IHOP.

There were a lot of nice cars there last night - - did they show you the DVD of their last meet when they went down to Irvine? Multiple 911's racing down the freeway with a 928. Quite a sight.

CJ_Boxster 01-18-2007 08:34 AM

OH! i was too late to meet at starbucks so i met every one at ihop, no thye didnt show me the DVD but Eli told me about it, I cant wait to goto Irvine!

dharrisonwu 01-18-2007 08:41 AM

Let's do it - - we should get some other members from this forum to go too...it's far enough out so everyone should be able to attend!

CJ_Boxster 01-18-2007 08:44 AM

Yeah, How about when Eli posts the Event details on pcars, Ill just copy it and paste the information here in a new thread, I know we have atleast 5 active members that could make it if they arent busy and dont live too far from the orange county and pasadena area.

mocster 01-18-2007 08:45 AM

Talked to Rich (blacknight) and he said you guys were nice. Everyone learned from each others about their cars and droolled over that TechArt turbo.

cut and paste from blacknight@pcars:

Hey guys, thanks for coming out. Nice to see the regulars and meet the new people with their rides.

10 new pix added to the Wednesday Night Coffee Social album

Oh, I think there is another Wednesday Social on the 31st before Feb 10th. I will confirm.

yellowbox 01-18-2007 09:03 AM

I was going to go, but something else came up, so I didn't make it. I'll show up for the next meet.
