New wheels,and a review of Wheel Dynamics

I decided it was time for a change,change of wheels that is. I decided to sell my Technologys with some curb rash in favor of some replica Carrera Lights for several reasons;It was going to cost me at least $300 to repair the curb rash to all my wheels,the Carrera are a butt load lighter then my technologys(Just by quick estimate of my bathrooom scale I saved 10lbs. per corner). Sold my technologys for $800 gave Wheel Dynamics a call. For $1,081 Carlos(great guy) shipped me my wheels in two days. He doesn't charge shipping to buyers in California! Now a quick review of the wheels;

-finish is very nice not perfect,if you look closely you will find very minor flaws. Being anal about my car I was the only one who noticed.

-I can't feel the estimated 40lbs. that I supposedly lost changing wheels,BUMMER!

-Do yourself a favor and buy the OEM wheel caps and valve stems,they will make the wheels look 1000x better then the cheesy wheel caps and plain black valve stems.

-The wheels alone make your car look a couple of years newer,I LOVE the look!

I will be sure to post pictures of the car with the new wheels tommorow.

Very cool.

Those are the same rims that RandallNeighbour has on; got to see those and they are sweet! You did get 18" right? and with them did you put any spacers on?

Been wanting to get a set myself but just bought new rubber a month ago on my stock 17" and have an Aero kit being placed on it this week; so with the budget set aside it will either be new rims/tires or litronic headlights and de-amber

Look forward to seeing the updated photos.

Post some pics too when you get your ride back - I'm in a similar situation as you regarding the wheels, and would like to see how the 17s look with the Aero kit.

factory Carreras are 21 pounds, replica should be more?.
The more crucial bit is the tire weight. Its better to have a heavy wheel and light tire than a light wheel and heavy tire like a Toyo RA1 r comp.

There is no way both the front and backs OEM Carreras are 21lbs. The replica fronts weighted 23 lbs. and the rear 27lbs,with packaging.
