Just a month ago someone thought it would be funny to jump up and down on my front hood. estimated cost...$1800. I'm waiting for winter to be over before I actually replace it.

Sorry to hear man. Jealous folks everywhere. Well, at least it wasn't on any body panel that you would have to remove and respray. Good luck with the touch up.

Might be an opportunity to...

upgrade to some CF mirrors! But seriously that sucks, I've come out to find a big globs of flegm on my hood a couple of times. Makes me wish I was walking to my car when it happened and call the cops on the bastards. Some people are just jealous A-holes. Good luck with the repairs!

My friend's boxster was beaten with a bat (windows, doors, hood). Several cars in the neighborhood received similar abuse. The good news is that a cop saw some teens a few blocks away, strolling down the street with a... baseball bat! This particular baseball bat had guards red embedded in it. More proof that mean and dumb are closely related.

The other good news is that insurance covered it and the car came back from the shop looking perfect.

Ive called the cops on people before messing with my car. Nothing happens though, just tell them that they will get banned from where ever they were or some stupid crap like that. Ive thought about buying a wireless camera to keep in the car. The camera itself it like a small spy camera and it hooks up to a dvr or something. I estimate itd cost me a couple hundred bucks for cameras (2 or 3) and a couple hundred for the dvr. Just keep them on the dash and itd catch anybody walking by or messing with the car. Maybe when I dont have anything to do with my money, lol.

One day a local prepaid-girl wanted me to take her for a drive. I told her that no one rides for free. The next day I found a big piece of bubble gum stuck on my fender. I am pretty sure I can connect the dots.

That being said, I think people causing damage to other's property is largely a North American phenomena. When I lived in Canada I had my car keyed more than once but I do not see the same attitude here. But if someone did key a car here it could have much more serious ramifications than in Canada especially if the car was owned by the wrong person.

The only abuse I've gotten in the boxster is the single time I left the top down and ran into a Krogers for 3 minutes. Came out and someone spat their gum out on my new floormat (driver's side). I'm thankful they didn't hit the leather seat. That would have been a mess to clean off.

No more leaving the car in parking lots when the wife can't run in, top up or top down.
