I'm getting very serious about purchasing the GT-3 bumper and side skirts from
DPS Motorsports. I have a couple of questions:

1) What are you all doing with your stock bumpers? Keeping them? Selling them on ebay????

2) Does anyone think doing this mod adds to the resale value of the car? (if so, this would be a good "selling point" with the wife).

3) Can the skirts be taken on/off without damaging the original paint?

Thanks for your info/help.

both the skirting and front bumper can be removed without any damage to the car. A simple do it yourself. I thought the front bumper was complicated but as it turns out its just a matter of unscrewing a few points.

as for resale it will add to the value of the car as it would cost someone at least $2000-$2500 to add these mods on their own. Or if you sell the car you can take off the bumper and skirting and put the stock bumper back on. I'd say in good used condtition you can get half your money back easy, people much prefer the factory polyurethane over the aftermarket fiberglass which is fragile.

the only but is that the Gt3 bumper makes the wheels look smaller so if you have 17" wheels they'll look like 16". A nice set of 18" replica Carrera 5 spokes or Turbo Twists is ideal.

If you can swing it go for it. It makes the car look allot more expensive and that always attracts buyers.

Thanks for the info PerfectLap! Do you have the replica 5-spokes on your Boxster? Do you have a recommendation on where to purchase these...also how much to they cost?

Unfortunately I do have the 17 stock wheels on the car now. I actually liked the look better than the 2003 stock 18" wheels. But if they are gonna look like 16" after the mod, I will probably have to go with the 5-spoke Carerra.

IMHO the 5 spokes look the best for a boxster......they open up the brakes to view too. Plus they are lt wt.

I was considering the cayman S 5 spokes on my box as well. Has anybody put those on a box yet? Those look smashing....reminds me of old hot wheels...

I just picked up an '07 987S, atlas gray, sand, black top, xenons and Cayman S 18" wheels. Very solid appearance, spokes were easy to clean today in 70 degree weather. Will post pictures this week.

RADDOC,
Welcome... I used to work right near Ambler off of Militia Hill Rd.
Ambler is a nice town... I miss that little Chinese joint and the pub at the corner
of Butler pike and Skippack.

Do yourself a favor and take a drive down Rt 23 from Gladwyne to City line..
Great top down drive... and they just repaved not too long ago.

Best of luck!

No I have the factory 5 spokes which are 21 pounds each, Ernies Alloys in Miami think I paid $1900. The replicas are sold in this auction onEbay I think Jeph and RandallNeighbohr said they are from a seller called wheel dynamics. About half the cost. I think they weigh a little more than factory. I was considereing picking up a set just for winter use for my winter tires and then keeping my factory set for the summer tires when I atuocross/track. But winter has taken the year off.
