Are there any difference with the headlight design on the Boxster between the 1999 - 2005 ?

Just interested in being able to swap out headlights from one model year to another.

Thanks

Just the amber turns clear, direct install unless your upgrading to the factory HID's then some additional wiring is required i believe.

Hey, Travis...I just changed mine. I have a 99 Box and the clear halogen light that I use to change it came from 02.

I think you could go as far as 02 only and from 03 and up has headlight washers on it or it's Litronics already, but not really sure

Yeah I seen a set of litronics for sale from a 2004 off eBay and was wondering if they would fit, but when I went to Suncoast they did not request a year for the Boxster only if you want clear corners and if you had washers or not.

I would call them again and tell them what year is your car. I did the same thing and before i put on my order, that's when I found out that 04' won't fit into my 99.

Are you planning to go Litronics? Is that same as Factory HID like what CJ has mentioned?

Yeap going with HID (Litronic) headlights, car goes to the shop for the 30k this afternoon and from there the body shop for a makeover (Aero I kit) and will pop in the headlights as soon as I order and get them.

Wife was very giving this year at Christmas

But get this, she got a brand new Aero I Kit (Original Porsche, not aftermarket) off eBay for $1200.00 shipped. Perfect condition and all hardware included.
The guy that listed it spelt Aero and Boxster the same way my wife does (wrong) and nobody but my wife placed a bid

Headlights for Boxster

Travis, I plan on getting the '03 Halogens (come without the amber) rather than the considerably more expensive Litronics. A set just went on ebay for $910.00 and they can be had for around $895.00 to $1,000.00 from some of the dealers. You usually have to buy the clear triangles for them (around $55.00). I don't drive that much at night and mainly want the clear for aesthetic reasons. For the amount of driving I do at night the current Halogens on my '02 are quite adequate. I would check out both Pelican Parts and Suncoast for pricing. Hope this helps,

Thanks Allen, my reasons are the same as yours; just a toss up for me on the clear or litronic, leaning towards litronic at the moment (but you never know)

For the 986 the compatability split on halogen headlight assemblies is '97-'02 and then '03-'04.

For the Litronics in a 986 there is only one set that fits 1999-04, you'll want:

996 631 157 01 (Left)
996 631 158 01 (Right)
