Lseat covers - seam pulling out.

Since installing my Lseat covers the seam in the back of the seat has pulled out of the groove it is supposed to sit in.

The original Porsche seats in my friend Tony's Boxster are doing the same thing so it is not only a Lseat problem.

When seen from the front the covers are nice and tight with no wrinkles.

This summer I tried to pull the seams together to get them properly installed...

but it didn't work, I did try to heat the leather as I pulled on it.

Any one have any ideas? Is there a product that will soften the leather to help it stretch? If necessary I would remove the seats to be able to more easily work on them.
