Dead battery / front trunk emergency cable

I hardly drive the Boxster anymore, maybe put 500 km a year on it now. Well I went to try start it to hook up my tender. Battery was so dead the window would not drop 😬

Went to hook power to the fuse box and the alarm went off non stop even with the fuse pulled. Next step was to do the emergency release cable… well I was not about to spend the time to remove the wheel and the fender lining to get to it. I remembered reading how easy it was to steal this style headlight, got a trim pry tool and wiggled it under the headlight and it popped out within seconds and the emergancy cable was just laying there ready.

So if anybody runs into the same issue just pop out your passenger side headlight to get to the release cable easy 😅

Now relocate it so the next time it is easier and you don't risk damage to one of those expensive headlights.

Popping out that headlight was a lot easier than getting the tow hook plug out 😅

Good to hear that you're headlamp survived.

From my experience the emergency cables are often in different positions.

Yeah I was glad I did not go digging in the wheel well my fat arm and figure would have never reached it 🤣, I might just route it down under the grill or you know leave the car on a battery tender 😅
