DT40 is the way to go….

…..whatever site you were on gave you the “no go” because that oil does not meet the SAE “Star Label” requirement for low ZDDP. There used to be a concern that high ZDDP oils killed catalytic converters.

We have enough data and time now to know that is not the case.

Change your oil every six months or 5,000 miles with the DT40 and you will be just fine.

As for the other issues, well, yeah. She’s a mid-engined mistress with all the trouble and fun that that entails.

You gotta buy a diamond necklace and take her out to dinner and a movie to keep the fun going between the twisty sheets.

Enjoy the ride.

550 SE thoughts

I purchased my '04 550SE (#27) earlier this year as a long awaited replacement for a '85 Carrera Cabriolet that I regrettably sold a few years ago. The Boxster came with 86K miles and a few issues that required attention - namely a leaking heater core, defective engine coolant cap and a intermittent instrument cluster. Aside from these minor issues/repairs, the car has been a dream to drive.

Handling and performance are all exceptional as expected, but the feel, the sound, the sculptured lines are its timeless and enduring qualities that make the care a rare breed.
