Opinions on a Short Shifter

Hello follow 986'ers. I have a 2001S with the 6 speed manual. I'm thinking of replacing the OEM shifter with a Short Shifter. I see that Rennline sells a system for a bout $375 on Pelican. They also sell lower priced models for under $200.

For those that have a short shifter, are you happy you made the change? Big difference going through the gears?

Any downsides to installing a SS system?
