I would definitely buy used. In fact I have been on a set of used springs for 4 years that I bought for $50 or $100 from this very forum. Just make sure they aren’t corroded. The guys on the British 986 forums frequently have them corrode and fail.
Otherwise, the metal quality on these is good enough you don’t have to worry about sag. I don’t even want to know what a new set would cost.
Other suspension components would warrant more caution but springs are pretty safe. You can tell how many miles on them by asking the seller or looking at the odo if it’s a wrecked car.
