No 4th Gear and Reverse

I was having some problems with gear changes at my last track day so I jacked the car up and did some looking around when I got home. There doesn’t appear to be any issues with the cables or linkages. Everything at the shifter looks fine also. FYI - I installed Numeric cables last year and everything appears to be in order.

When I did a test drive at home I was having trouble getting into 4th gear and reverse - same as at the track (some grinding and shifter is not moving as far backwards for 4th and reverse). Does ok shifting to 2nd. This is a 1998 5 speed.

When under the car, I did notice that the gear selector rod (I think that’s what it’s called) in 2nd gear goes in further than it does for 4th.

Thoughts on what the issue could be? Photos to follow.
