Only have the 99 Boxster for 5 weeks, I go with top down windows up for highway driving and windows down for around town.

I have just put the hardtop on for the winter, so we'll see how it goes in the spring.

Went for first top down ride today here in the northeast. Nice driving over the Kingston/Rheinbeck bridge with the top down. Heater on windows up. When it gets warmer (read spring) it will be top down windows down. Who the hell cares if you are having fun where you windows are set? How about half mast, what does that tell us? Nothing of course. Enjoy your rides more and make rules for others less.

I'm on my second 'vert (First being a Miata), and I've found at highway speeds that top down, passenger side window up is the preferred choice when the temps get down below 45, like tonight.

I'm diggin' the heated seats, cause if it's above freezing, the top is down!
