Melted wiring!

Hi my name's Ean and I've run into a bit of a problem with my boxster. I bought the car in November '22 figuring it would need a tad bit of work and it ran amazing until the alternator went out.

So I bought a new one and put it in about 2ish months ago and just the other day I had a dead battery. So I pulled the alternator and found it out had totally melted some wiring. The only wire in worried about is this one that runs from the alternator to the battery ground post that then runs to the battery

P.s. this is the first forum I have ever used and the first time I ever posted so hopefully everything worked and this is in the correct spot

That cable and wire need to be replaced.
All that corrosion in the wire and cable create resistance to current flow.
Resistance creates heat.
Make sure you have everything connected correctly when you replace things like alternators.

Yeah I know that all needs to be replaced, I forgot to add that I'm trying to figure out what that front wire is and how to replace it 😅 I made this post late last night after tearing the alternator out
