Hello All, My 2000 986 boxter S recently gave a code. p0410 to be exact.
p0410 is for the secondary air injection pump, its below capacity.
the secondary air injection pump is (correct me if I'm wrong) to heat up the catalytic converter quicker on start.
I know that it is not due to a vacuum leak (smoke test) so now my concern is fixing the issues causing the code.
I was talking to my electrical applications teacher at UTI, and he suggested: "since its a piece of emissions equipment, you could find the sensors intended resistance, then sauter a resistor for that resistance, clear the code, then it will never come back"
its not an exceptionally valuable car, so I'm not concerned with keeping it original.
this begs the question, what resistance should the sensor be? I cant really find it on my own, because it will tell me the resistance that will turn the light back on.
