What’s a realistic hp gain

Hi, just purchased a Racing Dynamics header, straight through mid pipe with two small resonators all coming to a Beluga (fab speed copy)

I have read anywhere from negative hp to as much as 20+. The car is a 99 base model 2.5

The cheapest / easiest way go from 217 hp to 250 is...

Buy an S. Esp with the low price difference of the 986 base & S. All the intake and exhaust "upgrades" are just expensive hokum. By the time you get done spending $5-8K on hot rod parts that gain you maybe 20 hp, you could've purchased an S. Porsches are not small block Chevies, waiting for better breathing intakes and exhausts.

If you're looking for better sound, knock yourself out with an exhaust system. Don't buy it for massive gains in hp.

I believe you are correct. I would hate to sell this little beauty so I will have to just add another to the fleet. The car has 84k and all original except for the engine recall for porous cases. Does have a double row IMS. It’s such a nice car but my Ford Fusion 2.0 is so much faster. Of course that is FWD. thanks

In Jeopardy parlance...

Good luck

Realistic HP gain or subjective, based on sound?

The former - maybe 2-5, the latter - for some plenty, for others... nah.

Unless you have a Ford Fusion Sport the Boxster should be faster, you may have other problems.
