Window will not go down enough...

Yes, I have used the search function here (as well as google and youtube) and read the other threads with potential solutions to this problem. The regulator in the car is a replacement that I put in about 3-4 years ago I am guessing. I don't remember the brand but it is not OEM. The window drops about an 1/8" inch compared to about 1/2" for the other side and of coures catches on the roof most of the time. My microswitches on the handles are operating correctly. I have tried adding zip ties to the bottom two pulleys on each end of the door but it has not made much difference (maybe just a bit better). I can push on the window and there is about 1/2" slack or so before there is resistance from the regulator tension. Is this regulator shot too or is there some other potential fix I am missing?

I had (have) the same situation, but my window drops just enough to clear the top with a hairs width of clearance. It never dropped as much as it should since I installed a cheap regulator a couple of years ago. When it started catching on the top last year I took up the slack in the cable with a spacer that is wider than a zip tie (forget what I used) and since then it is OK, as mentioned above.

I used the bicycle cable tensioner from another thread here and it worked fine, screwed directly into the green plastic piece at the bottom. I don't know what size it was, the part came from an old junk bicycle.
