It's controlled by the door lock mechnism. Check what happens if you close / open it manually directly in the door lock.

Thanks for the input. I remove my door handles when I wrapped my car so I'm guessing somethings loose connected to the door latch. 👍

I had a similar sensor issue in the passenger door.
This video around the 12:30 mark might help you trouble shoot the micro switches.
