Engine noise when decelerating

So I’ve got an odd issue and I thought I read somewhere that it was timing chain tensioner related but now I can’t find what I read before…

Anyways, I’ve got a 2000 base Boxster and when I first get up to highways speeds then have to decelerate quickly or pop it into neutral for a stop light, I will get a weird noise from my engine. It’s a bit of a rattle and definitely sounds a bit like popping too. It will do it for 3-6 seconds and then stop and won’t do it again when I’m still driving it around unless I shut it off for a bit (30 minutes or so).
