Is this a crack in the window??
I found this “crack” is it an actual crack or part of the window, 99% sure it’s a crack because of the uneven line.

Any idea on cost for replacement? My window guy suggests only a Porsche replacement due to aftermarket’s having water leaks. It’s the base window no sensors or anything

Never heard of that before. My window was replaced about 10years ago with a Pilkington aftermarket and no leaks whatsoever.

It looks like a stress crack. It's well out of your field of view so you're OK to just leave it, unless it keeps spreading and obstructs your view.

That's what I thought too, but he said it's a base windshield with "no sensors or anything"

Can anyone check their windows for this, it looks like a crack once you put light into it

Looks like a crack to me. If you don't have oem rain sensors or some special function in there seems like any old replacement windshield would work.

what oem rain sensors? Looks just like the antenna on my 2000 & 2003. Does the line go all the way to the top and then over to the middle?
Check with your insurance company, most include windshield replacement.

Sorry mine's in storage, but I vaguely recall seeing a wire in mine. Which made me think it's an antenna like the old 70's U.S. cars.
If I'm seeing the pic correctly, it looks like it's going up the passenger side A-pillar, correct? If so, I'm with Stl-986. It's an antenna.

It’s the antenna. The other line is down the middle of the windshield.

To the question of cost of replacing a windshield OEM vs aftermarket. I've replaced four windshields the past 10 months on my cars. Two were cracked and two (both of which came from Arizona) were original windshields that were pitted and had just seen better days. All four were replaced with aftermarket windshields. I've had zero issues with any type of distortion, no leaks, no problems at all.
Cost of each installed was just a few dollars under $500.

Looks like a stone chip at the very bottom, with the crack running upward to me.
My antenna goes straight up the middle to the rear view mirror.

It's definitely the radio antenna inside the windshield. I've got a replacement PGW windshield, with the same thing and the same kink at the bottom. You can follow this thing all the way from the passenger side base of the windshield along the A pillar, across the top of the windshield and down the center on mine, because there is black on the inside of the windshield behind it.

And it then goes along the top to the passenger side and then down to the cowl. Porsche has been doing this for decades along with many other mfg so they dont have to put an external antenna on the car.

Looks too clean and straight with a nice curve to be a crack......it's the antenna, IMHO.

I sure don't have this antenna line...my car is a 2001.
Maybe its a year of manufacture thing.

It isn't a year thing. You have it or someone replaced your windshield and put one in without the antenna.
