Speed Bleedeers

I couldn't find the specs for the Speed Bleeder for the 98 Boxster. the company website didn't list the 98 so I called the company and I was told the correct part number is SB1010S. Same as for a 911.

I've used them many times before and was always satisfied. I can't get anyone to walk 100' to the garage and pump the brakes. Yes, I bought the pressure bleeder also.

Another person and or the other fancy stuff is great.
But all you really need is a piece of broom handle cut to the right length.
Pump the brake up then wedge the broom handle between the brake pedal and the front edge of the seat. Open the bleeder for a second or two close the bleeder repeat.

I have done it that way for 50+ years. Never had an issue.

I had a fancy spring loaded pole from Griots years ago to bleed the brakes and clutch. I like the speed bleeders. After just doing IMS, clutch and engine mounts on a car I haven't driven yet, this is not a big deal. I will probably replace the brake lines with stainless. this car is almost 22 years old and was cared for but certainly not pampered.

I used to see a lot of guys using these on 944's that would swear by them. Personally I'll still with my motive bleeder, always gets the job done quick.

To each his own. Kind of hard to use a stick to do a full brake line flush

With a power bleeder, you can jack the car up, take off all 4 wheels and bleed all corners very easily. Not a very expensive tool you will use many tines on a Porsche and other cars.
Lots of reasons most shops use a power bleeder.

I just bled the brakes on my '99 after removing the calipers for paint. I bought the power bleeder and new speed bleeders. I guess in reality, you don't need speed bleeders if you are using the power bleeder but I wanted to replace the bleed valves anyway. It all worked splendidly and I had the system bled in just a few minutes.

Yup. Power bleeder is the way to go
