Broken Axle flange (half shaft/carrier) - Mystery Part?

Hoping someone may be able to help with this. 2003 Boxster (Tiptronic). Customer was trying to replace seals and broke this flange (see picture). The parts diagram and Porsche parts department say there is no part number, and are advising on replacing the entire transmission. There is no part number on the casting either.

Does anyone have any suggestions on a replacement part? I suspect an auto wrecker/used parts supply won't have much interest in removing this from the transmission, as they would likely rather sell the entire transmission. I have my doubts that welding would be an option.

I cannot understand how removing a seal would result in that damage.

That looks like a part that YOU will have to unbolt from the tranny at the wrecking yard. Luck be with you!

JB Weld it and call it done! 🤣🤣

Seriously, though. Sadly, I think you're right about the junk yard not willing to part it from the tranny. Unless maybe the tranny itself that they have is bad. Call around and see if anyone has bad Tips that they'd want to part out.

Have you tried Woddy? username "itsnotanova"
