Clutch inspection

Hey guys,

Is there a way to check the clutch for wear? Like any inspection gap/window that one could look through? I can see the flywheel in a few spots, but it was not enough to see the clutch plate.

If that is not an option (without decoupling transmission from the engine), does anyone have any other idea how to establish clutch wear? The clutch feels fine. Well, now. Does not slip, engages smoothly…

There is no realistic method to see the clutch with the car assembled. Normally, the pedal "bite point" begins to rise and the clutch feels harder when it is on the way out.

Harder - you mean more friction, jerky to engage?
Bite point - what is normal bite point?

I know that the final step is slippage - so that is the moment you must do it NOW or risk a fire. I am not there yet, but without knowing history, I am just curious.

Harder peddle effort.

Bite point is where the clutch just starts to grab. Generally, Boxster clutches bite fairly close to the floor when new, and that point moves further out as the clutch wears.
