Boxster Stuck in 2nd Gear (Tiptronic)

Last night, was pulling away from the curb in my 2000 Boxster (2.7L Tiptronic), and it didn't want to shift out of 2nd gear. I put it into manual mode, and then back into automatic to see if it had randomly got stuck in manual or something, and after a few seconds it up shifted normally after that.

However, I heard a weird series of awful sounding bangs or pops coming from the rear left of the car. It drove home about half an hour normally after that though.

That noise as got me worried though, any ideas for what that problem could have been would be appreciated!

I had the same noises on my 03 2.7 Tip the other day, sounded like something heavy rolling about in the rear trunk. Car drove normally for the hour long drive home, I assumed I had picked up something from the road, now you have a similar experience I am concerned also, engine and transmission were removed recently for ims replacement, not sure this has anything to do with it. Will await other responses with interest.

Picked the car up, no issues after a thorough inspection, must have picked something up off the road, the technician refused payment.

Most impressed, anyone with a Porsche in the north-eastern suburbs should try Auto Coupe in Eltham.
