No. And... good question.

I thought I had found THE repair shop in Riverside... spoke with the young guy (third generation, grandson)... deswcribed the problem... and he started off about the IMS (That knowing how many miles were on the car). Was going to be an extra $1k-$1.2K I believe. Told him no thank you.

That soured me... the upsell. I've "fired (I vote with my dollar) many "vendors" when they start the upsell BS. Veterinarians. Dentists. Doctors.

So I looked for another shop and found this one: https://www.specializedporscheservice.com/

I feel confident (I vetted him). I'm hoping he will use at the very least the Pentosin I purchased... for I don't want to be paying $26+ a liter. If he uses the other P parts I purchased almost six months ago... that'd cut down on the bill.

He's ~75 miles away from me (I was encouraged by a couple other members who suggested I widen my search). The two to will be $350 (plus tip).

That first drive 75 miles home will test my confidence.

So... no IMS repair. Puch comes to shove... engine ever fails... I'll consider ByPros or a conversion.

Cheers, Pipe.
