964 "Cup" style wheels on a 986?

Hi folks,

I was watching that video of Frank Stephensen discussing the 986 and there was a brief image shown of the clay 986 concept wearing 964 cup wheels. I actually really like these wheels generally and was wondering if anyone has ever had them or seen them on a 986? Pictures would be great! I saw that pelican parts sells a replica of those wheels for something like $250/ea which is a total bargain in the 5x130 wheel world.

I know they're "only" 17", but they just have such a crisp and purposeful look as Porsche OEM wheels tend to have. I actually like my 17" Boxster twists (or whatever they are called) but I really love how the 964s look on the cups.

edit: Here is the link to the reps:

17 x 7.5, +52mm. Stock wheels I believe are 17 x 7, =55mm. Can somebody who is more wheel literate than me say whether or not that works? Seems like it should, offset is basically the same and the stock wheels leave a lot of room to the outside face of the fenders. edit 2: Oops, that's just the front. The rears would be 17 x 9, +47

Cup II's (I don't have any experience w/ Cup I's) look very similar and as long as someone purchases the correct set, they'd bolt right up with no spacers needed.

Front and rear offsets for the majority of Cup II's are 55mm. Some made for the 928 and 968 have a 65mm offset.

Cup II fronts are either 17x7x55mm or 17x7.5x65mm. Rears are 17x9x55mm.

There are a few other weird Cup II sizes, but the 7" front and 9" rear are the most common and cheapest and would slide right on a 986 and look great.

These are Cup II's on my 928 project.

I found an image of a 986 w/ Cup II's but they're kinda hard to define being painted black. I posted the picture larger mostly so you can see detail on the wheels, but also because I know it annoys a few clowns and critics on here.

The Boxster concept car used the 2 piece Cup I style wheel. (Cup 2 wheels hadn't been made yet)

Ha, I've seen those 2-piece wheels many many times but I never actually associated them as being 2-piece versions of the 964 Cups until now. It's quite a different look even if the spokes are basically identical. Thanks for the input, I'm very tempted to get those Cup 1 reps. Such a good price!

How about the wheels on this one that sold on Bring A Trailer? The seller is a member here and posted that he was selling it on BAT.
