987 floor mats in a 986?

Does anyone know or has anyone tried to find out if 987 floor mats and carpets interchangeable?

I can check this evening if no one else knows........ Do you care if either has the Bose option that seems to make a difference (subwoofer takes up "foot room")? (I have non-Bose floormats for 986 and 987)

Yes - the 987 floor mats will work in a 986. I picked a set up a few years ago when Suncoast Porsche had them on clearance.

yeah, I'm kinda crazy that way. No Bose but open minded to 987 cross pollination . As long as no one rats me out.

Thanks. Same or just similar enough to be acceptable in polite company?

Apparently the Porsche engineers don’t have a problem with this - they put the 987 air box in the ‘04 SE.
