Side View Mirror Motors

Hey I’m not sure if anyone else has this problem, but I’ve looked at a few 986 S and each one has an issue with the side view mirrors not adjusting when using the controls. My base model has the same issue and it’s a little frustrating.

Any suggestions on how to fix?

Oddly enough, yes. My right side/US passenger mirror didn't work when I first bought the car. It turned out the plug had come out of the socket. The dealer was sure I needed a new motor, etc. +/- $400. I actually bought a used one from itsanova and started to X/O myself. That's when I discovered it was unplugged. Plugged back in and viola, movement.

I changed my LHS mirror motor when I bought the car. It was a super easy repair. I think I got he part for about US$70. When I looked at the broken parts, they've got some plastic gears that crack with age (and when you accidentally hit the mirror glass).
