Carbon canister part number?!!

I have a 1999 2.5 manual 986 boxster, and I want to change my carbon canister. I ordered it from design 911 and they sent me one with part number: 997 201 221 01. They also sent me a small tubular plug, presumably to plug a hole! I contacted them and told them that the part number they sent me begins with "997" and I don't think it will fit my car. They said that the canister they sent together with the other small plug has superceded previous part numbers on the 986, and this new combo is part number: PCG 201 221 01. Anyway,I'm also realising that the canister they sent me doesn't even have the nipple at the top,or a place where the purge valve can fit.
I haven't taken my old one out yet, so I can't confirm what the part number is or what it looks like exactly, but from what I've seen on the internet, the 986, and 987 canisters are different, and the one they sent me looks exactly like the 987 one, not surprising really since the part number begins with "997".

There were also some pictures of canisters I found that did not have a place where to fit the purge valve, but they still had the nipple at the top,but as I said, the one I received doesn't.

so, does anyone know which part number my car might have for the correct carbon canister, and if it would have a place in it for the purge valve to fit? Where there some with purge valves and others without?

Thanks

The pic on the design 911 website is not what they sent. When I asked they said that the picture is old. What they sent was the one for the 987 as I explained. The one in the picture of design 911 shows that nipple at the top, and the one they sent doesn't have it. But the one in the picture also doesn't have a place where the purge valve fits (under the nipple), where most other pics I found online, including the first diagram you sent, and the one of pelican parts, have a place where to fit the purge valve. I don't know which one I should get. I'm definitely not Keeping the one design 911 sent me, it's clearly the wrong one, even though they insist it's not!
