Trick to removing radiator strakes

Is there a trick to pulling these off? Looks like they should come straight out, but it takes more force than I was willing to do at first. Does it help to angle them up or down?

Be careful, the tabs holding them can easily break. The tabs can only be jimmied from behind and to do that you need to remove the bumper. Why do you want to remove them?

Thought it would be easier than taking the bumper off to clean the radiators.

You really need the bumper cover off and separate the AC condenser. Otherwise it's a waste of time.

There are metal clips on the back. You can't just pull them off from the front. You have to remove the bumper, then remove the clips and the pull right out.
