I got the factory clamp off w/o the tool, but it took a lot of work. Once off, I threw the clamp as far out of the garage as I could and replaced it with a normal screw-type clamp. Made future replacements much easier.

That ******************** clamp... dificult to "remove"... are you talking about the clamp at the bottom of the AOS? Why wouldn't you just cut that hose in half and remove the AOS tossing away the old clamp and the cut-in-half hose?

Or, are you reusing the old clamp and the old hose? Thought not.

I'm referring to the clamp that's at the bottom of the hose that goes into the engine. I didn't cut the hose since I wanted to reuse it.

Gotcha. That's the hose to which I was referring. They cost a few bucks.

I could tell mine was the original AOS because, at 14,500 miles when I received my car... and replaced the AOS... that hose melted like butter in my fingers when I went to remove it.

For the kinda PITA the procedure... I opted to drop a few extra bucks on that hose.

Cheers!
