Center Clear Wind Deflector (986)
Hi guys - is there supposed to be a factory storage bag/case for the center (clear) wind deflector? If so, any ideas where to get one? I recently bought an 04 SE and there was not one with the car and the PO, who owned the car of 12 years, does not know if he ever had one. Thanks.

I have a 2001 S and the centre wind deflector comes with a soft cloth bag.

Thanks bcrdukes. Any chance that you could send a picture of your case? That would be appreciated. You can send it to my email address: dmpreston356@gmail.com.
Thanks!

I'll snap a picture of it tomorrow when I head out and e-mail it to you. I"ll also post it here for everyone to see, or at least for those who are curious.

There isn't a separate part number for the case, so you can't buy a new one separately, and I've never seen just the case for sale used. Mine also did not have a case, so I made one out of some leatherette that matches my interior (the stiffer material provides a little more protection than making it out of fleece). Just sew three sides in a trapezoid shape, and add some velcro on the top or one side.

Apologies for the late reply, but attached are the photos of the bag.
For those of you who have never seen this before, it's just a soft cloth bag that holds the wind deflector, and nothing more. There's nothing special about it, to be honest. I never saw this with any Boxster I went to see when I was shopping for one, but it could be that I never asked.
Could this be custom made? I'm not sure. Hoping someone could validate this. Thanks!
@ por356c - I just sent you an email with the photos.

Mine is black. I took the photos under poor lighting conditions in an underground parking lot.

By chance, I was on SunCoast Porsche and noticed the cloth bag comes with the wind deflector kit.
You can search the website for SKU SKU986DEFLECTOR

I stick my leather tool pouch in it to protect the leather.
Never have any other use for it as the windscreen is always in.

You have a leather tool pouch? Mine is some cheap fabric with a coating of pleather that's all peeling off!

Just curious, why do you guys ever remove the wind screen anyways? I've never felt the need to take it out. That's probably why most people lose their original storage bag, because they never use it.

I take mine out when I put my hard top on. I left the windscreen in one year and it caused some minor visibility issues. It was mainly reflections from the headlights of cars behind me. It also got in the way of cleaning the inside of the rear window.
If I left it in, it wouldn't be the end of the world.
