Depends on the wheel design.

Which wheels do you have? The 5 spoke ones I have on my car would be super easy to polish.

I can imagine that the "lobster claw" wheels might be a pain to sand down and polish.


It would definitely be easier to scuff them up and paint them, but if you want to look good and different... polish.
