I've seen those flat bottom steering wheels around, but couldn't understand the functional purpose.

If it's for leg room, don't you need just as much leg room when you're turning?

I still have my OG 4-spoke and airbag. Hated. It. IMHO... 4 spoke steering wheels are for sedans, not **************** Porsches.

I purchased and installed the 3-spoke steering wheel... looks much nicer... and looks like it belongs in the car.

Both are 38cm.

It offers additional clearance space between the wheel and the top of your thighs. Very welcome 'wiggle room' whilst travelling along for long distances with the wheel centered, such as on the freeway.

Once you try it, you will not want to go back to round.

Mine below. Note the blue thread, tied to the color of the car.

I’ve got a flat bottomed wheel as well. This particular wheel is smaller overall as well. For me it is 100% a leg thing. Due to a hip issue, I was having a difficult time getting into the car with the stock wheel. The flat bottom makes it much easier. I will admit it is a little odd when doing full rotations, but it’s not a big deal, and I like the way it looks. Plenty of race wheels with flat bottoms...
