The Red Interior is just too loud for my taste.

That is a beautiful car. But, that is a lot of red. Maybe if the carpets were black?

no man, not a fan of red interiors that cheap-out w a black steering wheel, black trim, etc.; this car does it right in my opinion.

For quite a while I was looking for that red 3-spoke w/ Tip buttons, but wasn't dropping ~$800+. However, I agree with you and when I find that red steering wheel that I believe is reasonably priced I'll be selling the 4-spoke and 3-spoke to get into it.

I was not a fan of the original 986 "Boxster Red" interiors. They looked orange to me.

I find the deeper red of the 987 attractive at first glance. I am wondering whether I would perceive it as "too much red" after a year or two of ownership. My taste may have become conservative as I age.

I love colored leather.

But my big complaint about almost all of the colored interiors in the 986 and 996 is the poor color match between the different components/materials. This becomes even worse as they age.

For example, take a look at the red carpet vs the red seat leather vs the red lower door panel carpet. All three are completely different shades of red. Drives me crazy.

According to the Wheeler Dealers episode about the mid-80s Supra, the int color that fades the most is red. Savannah Beige and red seem to fade a lot in the Porsche 9x6 range. esp the carpets. Their int are better in the 9x7 range, but red carpets still fade.

BTW... there's another RS60 for sale on BAT. This one has a red int and blk roof and only 7K mi. With that ultra low mileage, it would be one of the few Gen III IMS cars I'd be afraid to drive.
