987.7 Airbag POSIP 80E8 DTC

I have a 2005 Porsche Boxster 987.1 that has an airbag light that stays on. The code is 80E8 which I found is a POSIP control unit memory fault.

One day for no apparent reason the airbag light turned on and did not go out after a couple seconds following starting the vehicle. I read the diagnostic codes and found a 8023 (left door head airbag - circuit shorted). I found a service bulletin for this fault and ordered new harnesses for the door and body. When extracting the pins at the driver footwell harness connection I found the "shorting bar" in the connector was faulty and was shorting the door harness regardless of whether the connector was mated. I repaired the shorting bar and put it back together. I then was able to clear the 8023 fault but now have the 80E8 fault. I assume that the 80E8 fault sets after an electrical fault is diagnosed after faulty some number of consecutive ignition cycles! This 80E8 code will not clear with my tool.

Does anyone know if the Professional Durametric tool can clear a POSIP airbag memory fault 80E8 or is this something that only a dealer PIWIS tool can do?
