Question about the alarm wire to the radio. Im trying to wrap my head around how the electrical works w the alarm. When installed at the factory the brown wire was clipped onto the back of the radio and I assume that would mean it was grounded thus completing a circuit and satisfying the alarm brain that everything is ok. You are telling me to wrap the wire in electrical tape so it doesnt ground.........wouldnt that be leaving an open circuit? Just trying to learn
Thanks

If i remember correctly you are correct the factory radio when installed presses against the bracket completing the alarm circuit. But it doesn't function properly with an aftermarket radio. If you go to cai website it explains why. But if you disconnect it without wrapping it with it flopping around it causes alarm issues.

Thanks Cunning......What is the CAI website? I wont be able to test which is the correct way for the radio wire until I get my door switches fixed. The wire was just dangling....I tried it grounded as well but I still get a double beep as Particle Wave had suggested that I might. At least I have it located and can try it both ways once everything else has been fixed and finally celebrate a no beep situation.

Car Audio Innovations, they sell audio gear but have some specialty pieces for porsche. Google cai porsche should pop up. There is a section with installation instructions.
