Easy question - Mass Air Sensor screw
 

Does anyone know the part number for the two screws that hold the mass air sensor down for a 2001 Boxster? I dropped one into the abyss and need to replace it.

Also if you know an online source for these screws it would be much appreciated.

The part number for the screw is 99991916007

I'm not quite sure what those screws look like but Marshalls Hardwar in Miramar stocks just about anything you'd need.

Do yourself a favor and take the remaining screw to the hardware store to find standard Phillips replacements.

do a torx, but bypass the security torx, just easier. anybody able to share the size? Im doing a MAF next weekend and plan on replacing these with standard torx, even though I have the security drivers.

Note that this is a 6- point TR torx, whereas the screw holding the maf on my '03 S is (was) actually a 5-point TR torx. Seriously? Why would ANYONE do that?

Standard torx is fine. Sorry I don't recall the size.

Interesting, on my 03 Boxster S, it's a 6 point TR torx screw. The torx bit I used has CR-VT20 on it.

I agree with others who suggest replacing with a reg torx or phillips head.

But for those reading this thread who are having trouble getting the screws off, I took a Dremel to them, cut a channel thru them, and removed them with a reg screwdriver.

If you do that you might as well throw away the tool you bought to remove the oe screws.
