Good job. Enjoy it and post some pics. What's a "body colored spoiler"? What color top?

I got the Cayman S so the top is the same color as the body. Originally, I was looking at the Boxster so that might be the confusion. The body color spoiler is the front lip. Instead of matte black, it's body colored.

I couldn't be happier and thanks everyone for their help!

My mistake. All this time I had it in my mind that you got the Box S even though you said you got the Cayman S few posts back. I'm glad that you were able to get the car that you really wanted from the beginning.

Yeah, I thought about it hard and when you're talking at this price point, it was worth spending the extra money on the car I really wanted.

I'm seriously considering a Boxster S as I took one out for a test drive yesterday. I have a couple of questions and was wondering if you all might be able to help.

1) With the Cayman and the '07 boxsters out, what kind of deal can I work out with the dealer on an '06 boxster S? Is invoice too low/much to ask for an '06? The car I'm looking at is priced around $59k msrp.

2) I like to do my own maintenance (ie oil changes etc). How hard would it be. Reading the forum, it seems like it shouldn't be that bad but it seems the sales person insists that a dealer do the oil change.

Any advice in purchasing a boxster would be greatly appreciated!!

Oh, and let me just say, if the Cayman S was within my price range...wow, there would be no hesitation. That is one nice car.

I was offered $10,000 off an '06 987 S from a dealer in Massachusetts. the sticker on the car was $61K, so you would be out the door for $51K. I elected to order an '07 from a different dealer because I wanted less options and I got out the door for about $52,000. I opted to get the '07, spec'd just as I wanted it, for essentially the same money as the '06.
