Do i have a 986 or 987? And what the heck do these buttons do?

Hi guys, really rookie question here, been reading and reading up on boxsters a d i have a basic model 2005 2.7L porsche boxster and believe its a 986, but on some websites it says 1996-2004 is a 986 and the 2nd gen 2005 is a 987...you guys know the most so thought id ask here since that will solve it for me. Also ive read my owners manual and cant find these switches anywhere to be explained and i cant figure out what they do...http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1555286839.jpg

It's a 987 for sure. No idea what the buttons are for.
