I like the turbo style front bumper! Perhaps the Porsche 3 spoke wheel with crest could liven it up a bit? I'm no fan of the older 4 spoke wheel myself. Welcome to the board!

That's a RUF front Bumper you have there or an aftermarket replica. Very nice and very uncommon.

Enhancing the interior can be done to the point of total transformation but very pricey.

The biggest way to spice up the interior is to have the center console where your arm rests, (called rear center console) painted to match your exterior. Not cheap but will change the whole look, since you have a very nice color (arena red?).

The other thing you could do is update the steering wheel with a grey three spoke like on the 2000-2004 Boxsters and 911's. That four spoke you have is kind of old school.

check out https://986forum.com/forums/bumperplugs.com for some ideas.

p.s.
don't know if its your camera, but your leather looks like its in need of some deep cleaning. I would sugget trying to find some 1Z leather cleaner. Its made in Belgium. It's the best leather cleaner I've used. Will make it look brand new when used with a terry cloth wash towel.

Oh, yes on second glance it is a little bit different than a Gt2/turbo front end. My bad.

I've got to agree with Perfectlap - I think interior painted components look tremendous. You could also look at GT style seatbacks painted to match as well. A 3-spoke wheel, upgraded shifter, and aluminum pedals would spice things up.

I added a gold Porsche crest to the center of my four spoke wheel. I think makes a big difference and at $16 U.S. shipped it is much less expensive and much less difficult to install than a three-spoke wheel. You can find them on eBay.

I'm thinking of adding aluminum trim rings to the gauge cluster next.

Here's another option if you like wood trim: http://www.classictrimwtp.com/gallery/boxster_center_console.jpg

Here is an example of the painted center console, option aluminuim shift knob & handbrake(the handbrake has "PORSCHE" engraved on it,very nice). I get compliments all the time from passengers, "Whoa blinkwatt! Thats a nice handbrake". Another note though on the shift knob,it weights about 1/3 of the "mushroom" style shift knob.

Do you happen to have the seller's eBay I.D.? I wouldn't mind finding the same one as you, most of them look cheap.

I've wanted to add the gold Porsche crest to the center of my four spoke wheel since I bought the car, but my concern is that if the airbag were to deploy in an accident the crest would become embedded in my forehead.

Can anyone address if this is a valid concern ?

Nick, why concern? That's how fashion trends start. Just think, when Porsche includes the $450 Embedded Forehead Crest option you'll be laughing all the way to the bank.

that steering wheel crest is also sold in Silver on Ebay. I think you just glue it on.

I've been wanting to do a silver rear center console with red matching shifter lever forever. But $900!!? It can wait.

The parts are all options from the factory. My car came with the painted center console and I ordered the handbrake and shift knob from a junkyard that happened to have a wrecked Boxster in the same color interoir. Boy did I luck out,$100 shipped for both!!!!!! It was a $875 option from Porsche. The shift knob was easy to change out, loosened and pulled. The handbrake took me two hours with someone help to remove and switch.

The seller's ID is backfromdriving

He charges $10 shipping and $5 handling, but most of the crests appear to sell for $1 so the total cost is low. The piece looks better in "real life" than it does in pictures and I recommend it. It is slightly larger than the embossed crest on the steering wheel.

In answer to the post about the crest flying off in an airbag deployment - I posted that question on several boards. The consensus was that it would stay on, but no one had any experience to report.

^ NICE!!!

The steering wheel and the gauge rings really make all the difference in the world.
Looks like two totally different cars. Good choice on the dark matts, brings out the contrast reall well.
