Will a 986 6 speed Boxster S shifter cradle/mount bolt right into a 987 Boxster S?

I have a quick question for you guys, I hope you don't mind, as it's a 986 AND 987 question. I had a Ben's short shifter in my old 986. I blew the engine in that car, and bought a 987 Boxster S (2005). I bought another of Ben's shifters for this 987 Boxster S. I have access to a complete shifter assembly from a 986. I would like to mount the new short shifter kit I got into this 986 plastic shifter cradle/mount so that I can keep the 987 factory shifter that's in the car intact in case I ever want to reinstall it in the car. The question is, will the plastic shifter cradle/mount from a 986 bolt right into a 987 and fit perfectly? Not sure if you guys know that one way or another. If you do please let me know.

The answer to your question is yes.
Both parts are exactly the same, when the 987/997 has a shorter throw from factory.
