Holy smokes, that looks like the next generation Boxster. That butt … uhm rear looks 20 years younger now. AWESOME!
Are there any build-in reflectors? |
Wow. Those look good. I got tinted ones but might be regretting that after seeing those pics/vid. Can't wait to see your video and lights on. I will be putting mine in this week hopefully also.

I would recommend the LED headlights from https://www.xenonpro.com/led-headlights has anyone else ordered from them before?
|
After seeing above I had to install mine today. Lol. So easy my 13 yr old daughter did it.
They look awesome. Video of them working. https://youtu.be/w0ljVmhwuwE https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...553d604550.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...b325258098.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...1fdd88508f.jpg Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using Tapatalk |

I think your daughter is inheriting the Boxster. |

rflores2323,
Those look great. I'm going to get a pair myself but am wondering how to handle the Texas requirement of must have two red reflectors on the rear. The tail lights themselves are DOT compliant but Texas has additional requirements for two red reflectors if the tail lights don't have them. Are you just going to drive and take your chances? My city police are fairly aggressive and I finally had to mount a front license plate to keep from being stopped as I got warnings. I'm going to look into those red reflecting license plate screws and see if those might be sufficient when I take off my current tails in favor of these. Mike |

Yes I was thinking same thing with the reflector lights. Bought some small motorcycle red reflectors for license plate. Will see how they look. I really don't think most cops are looking for that. I probably would get pulled over for no front license plate as all my cars (navigator, Audi Q7, Kia optima, and boxster) don't have front plates. Lol. So to answer some.... there are no reflectors on these lights.
Rear fog lights.... It's not a thing here in the US, I tried, but I could not get the to perform a rear fog light function. Here is my little video of them.... Not the best video, and please note they are much brighter than what my phone makes them out to be :p https://imgur.com/wshoIhu |
Here's what I picked up at Autozone today to potentially solve my reflector issue.

well IMO reflectors are a MUST, no matter if it is the law or not.
But I would go for original ones, e.g. http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1551124818.jpg I just heard from a shop, that there were problems with the shape/fitment. They estimated at least 6 weeks before they will be available here. So how do they fit, e.g. are the gaps okay? Did anyone figure out the fog lights yet? |
Here is a video of fitment on mine. I really don't see a fitment issue. Yes there is a small gap but it's not huge.
What is the mm gap with OEM lights? I think they look great and if off by a few mm to me it's not a huge deal. They are aftermarket and not OEM but I know some people feel different and has to be perfect. See video here https://youtu.be/mWc9TR7fuzU Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using Tapatalk |

Keep them pics coming, they look awesome! It certainly changes the rear impression of the Boxster. And not in a bad way.
@rflores2323, those gaps don't look bad, I am pretty sure that you can adjust the lights a little bit more to get rid of the "gaps". Even happens with OEM rear lights. |

No reason to try to be secretive about it. :p |
Just got mine yesterday and they look awesome on my black Boxster!
Fit and gaps/lines are pretty good, not quite OEM but close. One light has a little extra black sealant showing under the lens but not too noticeable. I'll adjust the fit a little when it's above freezing, and I cannot wait until the snow melts and I can get it out in the sun to really see them. Here is a pic of the right unit installed.http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1552009295.jpg |

Spices should be fine if done correctly. Kind of looks like the "solder" spice connectors. Definitely want to see how they look on your Seal Gray. |

Speaking of plug BTW, I'd give that some love too and secure up a bit more w/ some black RTV sealant. If not using removable pin connectors as in an injection mold, that piece will be molded as one entire assembly with and the wires then cut to length at termination connector. Suspect they were initially. Then they realized overall pigtail too short. So they clipped all at plug to extend and then "hand molded" in the extensions back into original. Looks sharp overall though and look forward to everyone reporting back LT results. Good luck :) |
Got mine in tonight and got them installed in the dark in about 25 minutes of fumbling around with a small wrench and dropping two of the nuts and having to search for them in my junkie trunk.
Can't wait to see them in daylight but they look great from what I saw tonight. Makes the rear end look a lot more modern. Didn't have a helper handy so I wasn't able to get any pics of them lit up but since it was night, I could see them light up and work properly from the reflection off of my other car parked behind it. Very simple plug and play. I'm satisfied with the expenditure at this point. http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1552018805.jpg |
I would like to see a smoke set on a black box if anyone has that combo.

I really appreciate your helpful tips and will use them. I'm disappointed in all the extra work needed to be done to ensure an EOM secure fit on new tail lights for the cost. |

Yes, it is a ducktail spoiler made by forum member Joe Toth. Search and you will find a thread or 2. Very high quality, my paint shop was impressed, and easy to install. Highly recommended. |

Anyone have the new smoke tail lights on a black car?
I'd love to see those. Seems like a natural combo!

Installed 718 lights. They work fine, but a few shoddy details: too much wire, fit is not as close tolerance as OEM, no clip like OEM to clip excess wiring so wires are too lose, clip incorrectly labeled R was Left and L was Right, made in Taiwan...but from the outside they look nice and are functional. Wouldn't pay this price if I'd known about the shoddy details. |
Has anyone figured out, how (or if) the fog light is working?
