				Seat Covers

Had a large hole in the DS outer bolster that spewed bits of foam. I swapped the driver's and passenger backrest skins. I used liquid duct tape to "stitch" the tear.

I'd like to replace the covers with leather, but don't want the expensive options. Does anyone have experience with this seller?
 https://www.lseat.com/products/1997-2004-porsche-boxster-986-custom-real-leather-seat-covers-front.html
Thanks!

I had them send a color swatch as I was interested in these covers but have not purchased yet.

Thanks Redciv1. They talk about hog rings for installation, but I'm wondering if their skins have the bars that snap into the clips in the clamshell. You can see them at the bottom of the picture.

Any opinion on black for the seats in a Savanna Beige interior? I too would need to get some swatches.

Here is my review/photos of the set of seat covers that I bought from Lseat.com for my 911SC...
I had them professionally installed by a local auto upholstery shop.

IF the rest of the upholstery is okay, not torn or badly worn, have an upholstery shop replace just the damaged portions of the seat skins. I have a guy here in Tucson who can pretty well match the vinyl covers. Lots cheaper and keeps the look of the seat all Porsche.

Not a great recommendation for the upholstery supplier. I would be disappointed if mine came out like that.

When I did my seats (which were really bad) I replaced the seats with some seats I found on Ebay. My original interior was metropol blue, the replacement seats were black. The carpeting was really worn, too. And the blue got swapped out for black.Where the blue carpeting meets the black, it doesn't look too outlandish.

I don't think I'd replace beige seats in a beige interior with black. The difference would be too stark and wouldn't look right.

I agree, Brian. No offense to thstone, but I'm not liking the piping.

Niiice! I have the Savanna Beige with Burlwood trim. I'm liking the black seats.

Reading several very negative reviews (even on their website) I ran across this thread
944 Forum - Leather Seat Covers
I suppose you get what you pay for. No offense to those who had positive experiences.
Anyone deal with Classic 9 Porsche Interior Restoration Leather Craftsman Classic 9 Leather
Those would be my choice, as they match the original so well.

I am inherently cheap. I've had leather seats and I was not impressed. A lot of expense, no added comfort, and they were much more prone to damage. Your butt will stick to them in hot weather.

I reiterate that a good upholstery shop could make your damaged seat look as good as new and probably make it wear better than oem. I'd certainly take it to a quality upholstery shop first, rather than get some aftermarket skins. If you save $400 repairing, you could put that money towards new tires, or shiny wheels, or just put it in a 'moving violations' fund.

Brian, I'm going to take your advice. Fortunately, I got the car with the tires almost new. It has several small dings and dents and a scraped up front spoiler that I want to address.
Don't get me started on speeding. I got so many tickets in my TDI.
