This is correct.

The unit in the picture with the wires coming out is a switchback controller, so it will shut off the DRL when the turn signal is activated.

Black to ground, red to parking light, yellow to turn signal.
No additional controller is necessary.

So it should work even without the DRL wiring kit I ordered? Cool I wish I had some wire ��
That kit is still good because it comes with wire and connectors. Also its supposed to read voltage so it knows when the car is running and powers the running lights.

Made the other side today. Thought the were too bright for a bit but outside they are fine.
